Sodbury Yate Business Association

Red Door was pleased to work with Yate Library to organise Be Your Own Boss -a business start up evening in January 2013. The event was opened by Tom Herbert (from Hobbs House Bakery and The Fabulous Baker Boys) who spoke about the principles of running your own business and the 'passion for your product' that was required. The successful evening was attended by over 80 local people who were in the first stages of business start up. Speakers covered a range of business related topics and there was the opportunity to discuss ideas on a one to one basis.

Business Breakfast

Linda and Tracy organised a successful Business Breakfast on behalf of ‘The Sodbury and Yate Business Association’ at The Chipping Sodbury Golf Club. The speaker Paul Neck from ‘Business Doctors’ gave an informative presentation on the ’10 steps to working on your business’. The networking event gave the opportunity for businesses from the local area to talk about their business and create new contacts. What we are doing at the moment

• We are looking forward to working with the University of Bristol on a new project!!
• We are looking forward to working on a project in 2013 with The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University NHS Trust on a project looking at customer care within the trust, producing training and a DVD
• We are working with Age UK
• We are enjoying working with Exeter Libraries on a Coaching Programme
• Supporting Worcester University with the introduction of Firstpoint -an exciting development to enhance student experience
• Hobbs House Bakery and Butchery Shops - Mystery Shops and Customer Service training (home of the Fabulous Baker Brothers!)
• NHS - facilitation and workshops with GP Practices to address issues around patient care
• Working in partnership with Brimsham School and Sodbury Yate Business Association to support Business Studies students into work
• Team Events with University of Bristol
• Working with UPP (University Partnership Programme) and Corin
• Outplacement Support with two organisations and individuals
• Customer Service parts one and three for University of Exeter - now in its 3rd year!
• Team Days incorporating Myers Briggs workshops
